Job Description
The Home and Garden Private Label team is looking for a strategic, analytical, and innovative Senior Instock Manager to lead inventory management and instock (planning) for our Pinzon and Strathwood brands in the Bedding/Bath and Outdoor Living categories. Private brands are a fast-growing category focused on delivering a rich assortment of product offerings of high quality and value to the Amazon customer. The Senior Instock Manager is responsible for financial inventory planning and purchasing, reducing operational defects, optimizing inventory health, and improving supply chain efficiency to ensure a world-class customer experience. In addition, this role will drive system and process improvements with engineering teams across Amazon to create scalable methods of forecasting, procurement, and order management. The position requires an individual who can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often-ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

The successful candidate will have hands-on, operations or inventory management experience, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and excellent business judgment. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, where tactical and strategic activities are driven in parallel, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years supply chain, inventory management and/or project management experience
  • Strong data extraction, analytical and problem solving skills; ability to work with large, complex data sets and familiarity with statistics or other analytical techniques; excel skills are required.
  • Proven track record of managing and executing entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Business, Engineering or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline preferred
  • SQL programming ability and experience with data warehouse systems
  • Experience working with tools and process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  • Ability to thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are driven in parallel
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of outdoor furniture and/or home textile products

Our Manager is responsible for overall Private Brands Division sales and profit development through category, market, and trend knowledge and application. To make recommendation to meet and exceed Company, Division, and individual targets for Sales and Profit through working with key stakeholders throughout the Company. Manage several diverse categories simultaneously.

This role also:

  • Set targets for sales and gross profit for assigned categories. Works with Category Managers to meet established sales, profit and private brand penetration goals.
  • Defines specification and ensures supplier compliance Develop assigned categories; stays abreast of category trends and market changes Maintains knowledge of competition and applies information as necessary to grow sales and profit
  • Planning and Forecasting: know how to forecast demand for both short term and long term sales; must have a solid understanding of logistics and the effect on store and warehouse fill rates, inventory, and shelf life, and the results these areas have on Company profitability.
  • Work with manufacturers and suppliers to develop a strategic relationship to reduce costs, increase product and packaging innovation, improve profitability; and meet Corporate requirements on service. Knows the entire supply chain cycle “from farm to fork” and how it affects product costs, product availability; sales, and profitability.
  • Develops assigned categories through product innovation, reformulation, new products and packaging ideas.
  • Develops brand strategy and build the brand to meet Corporate, Division, and individual targets and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years experience in Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, or Supply Chain OR High School Diploma/GED and 7 years experience in Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing or Supply Chain.
  • Experience with related financial modeling and analysis.
  • Experience using retail data such as Nielsen or IRI.
  • Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization.
  • Experience collaborating with internal resources and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Knowledge of retail store merchandising including placement and promotion.
  • Knowledge of logistics and the effect on store and warehouse fill rates, inventory, and shelf life, and the results these areas have on Company profitability.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show).

Job Summary
Responsible for creating and executing both long term and short term Beauty Brand strategies; demonstrating a strong sense of leadership; working across divisional lines to set corporate standards on both the Walgreens and Alliance Boots owned and exclusive Brand proposition; and creating an end-to-end execution plan for bringing exclusive and owned Alliance Boots beauty and personal care brands to Walgreens.   • Collaborates with GMMs to develop 2-3 year Beauty Brand visions. Identifies new partnerships and product development in beauty and personal care.
  • Leads all branding/packaging changes as aligned with strategy and in partnership with Brand Owners where relevant.
  • Conducts quantitative and statistical economic analytics to identify Beauty Branding initiatives across categories.

Basic Qualifications & Interests

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years experience in strategic sourcing or brand management.

  • Experience in innovation, sourcing and merchandising across several different product categories
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative consumer and competitor insights to craft Private Brand solutions across categories

Job Description
The Buyer is responsible for meeting planned sales, margin and inventory turnover goals for their designated area. The objectives will be met through focused merchandise assortments productive marketing and sound merchandise management.
