M&S Private Brand Reality TV \”Food Glorious Food\”

\"fgf3\"The hunt is on for Britain’s best-loved recipe. Experts from the reality TV series Food Glorious Food have scoured the British Isles to sample recipes from home cooks all over the country, with the winning dish earning a place on the shelves of the British retailer Marks & Spencer as a exclusive Private Brand product.

Food Glorious Food sees Carol Vorderman joined by four passionate food experts, food writer Tom Parker Bowles, globe-trotting gastronome Loyd Grossman, Women’s Institute vice-chair Anne Harrison and baker Stacie Stewart, who have travelled the country armed with rosettes which they hand out to dishes that meet with their high standards. Each judge has their own area of interest. Stacie, owner of online company the Beehive Bakery, is on the hunt for an amazing cake or pudding that the nation will fall in love with; food writer royalty, Tom, is scouring the land for a great British recipe with culinary heritage, Loyd is hunting for a new favorite to match that much-loved dish, the curry, and Anne is championing traditional home cooking.

\"fgf71\"Each episode visits a different region of the UK as the judges look for six amazing recipes and contestants to take through to the semi-final stages, where two will be picked to battle it out for a place on the shelves of Marks & Spencer and £20,000. Exclusively Marks & Spencer stores will then sell the winning dish across the country with 40p from each dish sold going to Great Ormond Street Hospital. The first episode of Food Glorious Food was aired on ITV at 8pm on February 27th.

Simon Cowell of American Idol fame, whose production company Syco are working on the show, said “I love home cooking, which is one of the reasons I wanted to make this show. No one can make roast potatoes like my Mum and I’m sure lots of people feel the same way about their family recipes. This is not a show for snobs. This is giving someone a chance to have their recipe sold in a Marks & Spencer store.”

Steve Sharp, M&S Executive Director, said: “M&S is famous for bringing high quality, innovative food to the nation’s tables and we’re always looking for new ideas to whet our customers’ appetites. It’s surely a dream opportunity for any budding home cook to have their much loved favorite family dish sold in our stores – we can’t wait to see what they’ll be cooking up.”

Simply Fuller Longer With Marks & Spencer

\"FullerBritish retailer Marks & Spencer is looking for customer volunteers to participate in the Private Brand Fuller Longer 4-week meal plan and become an official M&S diarist throughout January.

The retailer will pay for all meals in the Fuller Longer 4-week meal plan and participants will then follow the plan as closely as possible, take photographs and write weekly blog posts about their experience for publication on the Marks & Spencer blog M&S Stories.

Launched in 2010, The Fuller Longer Private Brand range was developed with advice from scientists at the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health. Each meal in the range is rich in protein – but this isn’t a low carb plan – every dish also provides balanced carbohydrates from a range of sources, including beans, pulses, grains and vegetables. Plus, the majority of the meals and salads provide at least one of your five-a-day fruit and vegetable requirement.

The meal plan is based around 1000 calories and is designed to be flexible, so it can be adapted to suit your own personal tastes.
