Paulo has over 25 years of retail experience, gained in 7 different countries within Pick N Pay, Royal Ahold, and Mars Inc.

Paulo has practical knowledge of General Management, Commercial, Marketing, Logistics & Supply Chain and Store Operations both on the strategic and operational level. He gained this in his last 25 years of international assignments, in developed and emerging markets. Since 1997, he always has been a member of or head of the executive team.

The fun of being a retailer runs deep and shows clearly in Paulo’s knowledge and passion. Paulo considers food retailers are masters of dealing with the inherent complexity of other industries. “We are bakers, butchers, farmers, producers of private labels, Brand sellers, Nonfood & Fashion sellers, real estate owners, influencers in society, speaking partners of policymakers and normally one of the largest employers and taxpayer in a country. Therefore we need to strive every day to achieve simplicity in this complex setting, by carefully listening to the needs of our customers, improve efficiency and be a trustworthy partner within society”.

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.
