Velocity Europe: Call For Speakers

After a groundbreaking 3rd Annual Velocity Conference in Charlotte, NC a few weeks ago, planning is well underway for the inaugural Velocity Europe conference. Last week I spent two days in Portugal on a site visit for the event at the conference hotel, and both the hotel and Lisbon are fabulous. The modern hotel is a contemporary wonder that will challenge attendees to discover the future of private brand and the beautiful historic city of Lisbon will encourage attendees to celebrate the history of private brand.

CALL FOR RETAIL SPEAKERS

Speaker announcements will begin in the next 10 days but we have a few speaking slots left. Velocity Europe is looking for retail executives who are willing to tell their story. Whether you are a VP at a retailer, a leader in an online disruptor, or a regional player trying to win, we want to hear your private brand story. The conference is looking for retail speakers to present their thinking, strategies and private brand success stories. Sessions will cover topics and specialties spanning all facets of private brand strategy, development, innovation, brand management, design, staffing, manufacturing, product development, sourcing, and marketing.

We are looking for speakers from all channels: grocery, drug, mass, home improvement, office supply, pet, toy, discount, dollar, fashion, etc. Velocity is the PRIVATE BRAND conference and we firmly believe the conversation across channels is critical to the future of private brand.

The ideal Velocity speaker:

ALL PRESENTATIONS ARE IN ENGLISH.

Must be an executive and thought leader

  • Is experienced and comfortable speaking in front of large groups
  • Is interested in sharing their expertise, real-world strategies, and knowledge
  • Is willing to partner with the conference and My Private Brand to deliver the best possible experience for the audience
  • Is interested, schedule permitting, in attending the whole event and engaging with attendees
  • Is open to helping spread the word about the event

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.
