Vertex Awards Ceremony to be held at the Velocity Conference

    The votes have been tallied and we are excited to announce that this year the Velocity Conference will host the Vertex Awards ceremony. With a record number of entries, from 33 countries the winners represent the absolute best in package design from around the globe.

    This year we will hold Vertex Awards celebration events in both the United States and Europe.

    We will formally announce the winners of the Vertex Awards during a ceremony held at the Velocity: The My Private Brand Conference on April 30, 2019, in Charlotte, NC, with a cocktail party immediately following the awards on the rooftop of the Le Meridien hotel. The event will also include an exhibit of winning entries and the announcement of an exclusive new Vertex Award. Vertex winners will be officially announced online beginning May 1, 2019.

    The Vertex Awards event in Europe will be held during the Velocity Europe: The My Private Brand Conference October 21-23, 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal. The event will include an exhibit of winning entries and a cocktail party.

    Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago. Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
