Giant Food Promotes Award Winning Private Brand Wines

Ahold Delhaize owned grocer Giant Food announced today its promotion of various award-winning and highly-rated wines. Wine and beer selections are available at 67 Giant stores throughout Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland.

Private brand, Artisan Vintners Wine, is available exclusively at Giant stores and recently received three silver medal awards at the 2018 Indy International Wine Competition. Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir each won silver medals for quality and flavor at the 2018 Indy International Wine Competition.

  • 2016 Chardonnay: Bright aromas of golden apple, pear, and a hint of lime.
  • 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon: Intense aromas of cassis, dark cherry, and a hint of blueberry, toffee, and nutmeg.
  • 2015 Pinot Noir: A spectacle of cherry and strawberry flavors, balanced with earthy undertones of spice and cedar.

Artisan Vintners Wine were curated by in-store wine buyer, Jeffrey Pygott, in partnership with Larson Family Winery. Pygott has spent over 30 years tasting wines from across the globe. Pygott also tastes and hand selects every wine available on shelves for Giant shoppers, and any Giant store with a wine and beer selection carries up to 1,200 varieties at any given time.

In addition to its private brand wine, Giant also offers a collection of highly-rated wine at a discounted price for shoppers, including 1907 Malbec, Time Waits For No One Red, Tonel 46 Malbec and Villa Pillo Toscana Red.
