The Velocity Conference Expands to Europe

    We opened Wednesday morning of Velocity: The My Private Brand Conference, with big news. We’re adding a second Velocity event and taking this show on the road. When we made the announcement, we had just narrowly avoided Hurricane Florence, so it’s taken a few weeks to solidify the plans for both the US conference and the new European conference. But today we are excited to announce that Velocity Europe will be held in Lisbon, Portugal. at the Myriad Hotel, October 21-23, 2019.

    For Europe we are expanding the event, adapting it from the US format to meet the needs or European Private Brand professionals. We are adding three exciting new opportunities for Europe:

    Private Brand Retail Safari: Join our Private Brand Retail Safari where you will explore the streets of Lisbon and discover exciting retail and private brand concepts.  We will visit retailers that are innovating around digital, offering experiences that keep shoppers coming back, and are creating inspirational merchandising solutions. This tour will inspire, excite and immerse in the best of Lisbon.

    Vertex Awards Celebration: This event moves from Amsterdam to Lisbon. Don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate this year’s winners.

    Innovation Expo: Velocity Europe will feature a curated collection of exhibitors displaying the newest their newest innovations. Exhibitors will include private brand manufacturers, agencies, technology companies, research firms, brokers, consultants, and other private brand service providers.

    Add to that the amazing content private brand professionals have come to expect from Velocity US, compelling speakers, and exclusive networking opportunities with retailers and you’ve got a not-to-be-missed event.

    Velocity Europe is looking for executives who are willing to tell their story.     Christopher Durham
    Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago. Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
