Heather takes the world around her and personal sensory memories to create beautiful fragrances that enhance people’s lives and drive category growth. She helps a stellar line-up of Arylessence’s private brand clients tell their brand story through scent and brings each of their customers’ new and exciting sensory experiences. Heather has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Georgia and graduated Summa Cum Laude, with Highest Honors. Her training as a chemist enables her to pair creativity with a solid technical and scientific foundation. Heather knows the key to creating fragrances that win in the marketplace is rethinking the basics, making innovation happen, and meeting consumer expectations in new and unexpected ways.

While she finds creative inspiration in a diversity of sights, sounds, tastes, and smells, she definitely takes her most creative cues from the vast array of beautiful fragrances found in nature. Heather’s own love for gardening and photographing nature’s beauty has been a boundless creative teacher. When Heather is not creating new fragrances and leading an exceptional Arylessence perfumery team, you’ll find her mountain biking, traveling, and enjoying time with her husband and children.

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago. Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
