Tesco Tests Meal Kits

tesco-beefU.K. retailer Tesco has introduced a private brand meal kit in direct competiion to large players like Blue Apron and Hello Fresh.

The collection which includes 12 Recipe Boxes rolled out into a dozen stores in a six-week trial.
Each kit contains all the ingredients needed to prepare a meal for two for £8. The line features:

  • Malaysian Beef Curry with Coconut Rice
  • Mediterranean Spice Rubbed Chicken with Rice
  • Mushroom Risotto with Pecorino
  • Poached Salmon Fishcakes with Green Beans & Lemon Aioli
  • Spanish King Prawn & Chorizo Paella.

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement.
