Target Chief Marketing Officer Jeff Jones has resigned after more than four years at the Minneapolis-based retailer. Jones, is joining taxi-disruptor Uber as the San Francisco online company’s president of ridesharing.
Jones replaces Uber co-founder Ryan Graves, who will move to lead new business ventures like UberEats and UberRush.
“As we grow, marketing is becoming more and more of a thing, and it was clear we needed a real infusion of talent on that front,” Kalanick said.
Jones joined Target after a six-year run at McKinney, where he was managing partner and president for the Durham, N.C.-based advertising agency.

This morning Target Corporation announced that Jeff Jones, executive vice president, chief marketing officer will be departing the company, effective September 9, to pursue a new opportunity. Target chairman and CEO Brian Cornell issued the following statement:
