Position Description

  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics
  • Develops and drives category strategies for private brands globally
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals
  • Drives the development and execution of global private brand category performance protocols and expectations
  • Provides category expertise for private brands globally
  • Provides overall direction

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of supervisory experience or experience leading project teams.
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Technology, Engineering, or related field and 10 years experience in category management, manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, merchandising, or related field OR 12 years experience in category management, manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, merchandising, or related field.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years experience with category management.
  • 4 years experience with consumer packaged goods (CPGs).
  • 4 years experience working with global private brands.
  • 6 years experience working with international markets.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago. Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
