French retailer Carrefour has introduced a new private brand designed to combat food waste through including visually unattractive foods in recipe.
The first of the brand, Tous AntiGaspi (“anti-gaspillage” is “anti-waste), is a breakfast cereal, which is less expensive than most of Carrefour’s private brand breakfast cereals. Its tagline is “Moins de gaspillage, plus de economies” (“Less waste, more savings”).
“Carrefour does not guarantee that these products will be constantly on the shelves .By definition, these products are accidents of production. It is out of question to systematize the production of uglier products.
