Job Overview:
Senior Brand Manager is responsible for strategic planning, sales and margin for the brand. Partner with VP in development of the 3-year business strategy inclusive of sales, penetration, EDI/Replenishment, and EDV.

This position reports to the Vice President

Essential Functions:
Sales / Margin:

  • Generate support of the line and financial plans by gathering product performance input from divisions, sharing line development and direction, and promoting the assortments
  • Responsible for implementation of all weekly selling reports and management summaries
  • Manage division placements and tracks all shipment dollars
  • Recap and analyze all order placements, communicate callouts by Buyer/Planner, and follow through to make sure changes are implemented
  • Responsible for quarterly and annual Vendor Margin profitability and analysis reports
  • Oversee all information flow between the product organization and the MCOM and Macy’s
  • Responsible for identifying and communicating to Buyers/Planners all reorders and new emerging opportunities

Strategic Planning:

  • Partner with VP in execution of seasonal private brand sales and vendor margin plans
  • Write Private Brand SAS/Financial Strategy, target top-line, class and receipt plans for Line Review
  • Communicate to MDS/MCOM the private brand strategies based on the plans
  • Develop tactics and objectives for each season and meeting
  • Partner with the GVP on the execution of departmental budget, shipment and EBIT plan.


  • Education/Experience
  • Minimum 5 years buying/planning experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Communication Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
