Position Summary:
This position is responsible for New Item Development for all Store Brand items within an assigned business unit. This Product Development role is responsible for identifying new item opportunities, choosing the supplier, negotiating cost of goods and working with creative team on packaging. They will also be responsible for maintaining a steady stream of product availability for each item (insuring a 95% service level). They will work with the Category Manager of their assigned business unit to provide the necessary new items to achieve the sales and margin budgets.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position is accountable for the following:
  • Oversees the development of all New Items for assigned categories
  • Identifies New Product Ideas
  • Determines the Supplier for all New and Existing Store Brand items
  • Negotiates the Cost Structure/business terms
  • Responsible for implementing all Non-Disclosure Agreements and Store Brand Supply Contracts
  • Meets with Suppliers to monitor performance, service levels, and encourage innovation
  • Responsible for ensuring a steady stream of product availability (Dual Sourcing)
  • Works with Legal and Quality departments to resolve any product issues
  • Suggests Retail Price for New Items understanding market and price strategies
  • Benchmarks CVS against all relevant competitors
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in product development, merchandising and/or analytical capacity
  • Proven self-starter, problem solver and team leader
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Understands Big Picture and has proven ability to apply data to real-life business issues
  • Excellent technical skills: proficient in Excel spreadsheets
  • Bachelor\’s Degree required

Preferred Qualifications:
MBA preferred
Retail experience preferred
