TreeHouse & Post Vie For ConAgra

conagraConAgra Foods Inc. has begun talks with Post Holdings Inc. (which ironically was spun off by Ralcorp in 2012) and TreeHouse Foods Inc. regarding the sale of its private brand unit Ralcorp. The sale is estimated to be valued at $3.5 billion. ConaAgra is working with Centerview Partners and Goldman Sachs Group Inc on the sale process, which it launched earlier this after activist hedge fund Jana Partners LLC began pressuring the manufacturer. ConAgra is seeking to sell the private brand business in its entirety, rather than carving it into smaller pieces.
