Position Description

  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals
  • Ensures packaging production sourcing needs are met
  • Ensures sustainable packaging
  • Leads the development of internal and external communications (for example, style guides, toolkits, requests-for-proposals (RFPs), auditing checklist) to ensure the consistent global execution of packaging specifications
  • Provides overall direction for Private Brand – Packaging

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field and 9 years experience in marketing or related field, including 3 years in brand identity and package design development OR 12 years experience in marketing or related field, including 3 years in brand identity and package design development.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) developing new packaging methods and processes.
  • 3 years experience managing packaging budgets.
  • 5 years experience developing and gaining stakeholder buy-in for packaging concepts within a matrix organization.
  • 5 years experience in retail marketing or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago. Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
