Carrefour Launches Sustainable Tuna

Carrefour tunaFrench mega grocer Carrefour, in an effort to preserve fish stocks and to distribute fish caught responsibly and sustainably, has divided its private brand tuna into two separate products – those caught by fishing rods, and those caught by fishing trawlers.

At its Carrefour and Carrefour Market stores, the retailer now carries two skus that use fish caught by fishing rods – canned skipjack tuna, and canned yellowfin tuna, however they will continue to carry the trawler-caught skus as well.
