eBags’ Private Label brand is the best-selling brand out of 550+ sold on eBags.com. It encompasses luggage, backpacks, handbags and travel accessories. In addition, the eBags brand consistently rates as one of the most customer-preferred brands on eBags.com.

The Brand Director, eBags Private Label is responsible for managing brand positioning of eBags’ private label products (PLP) as a business unit including product roadmap, P&L, and marketing to drive product awareness and sales/profit growth. The Brand Director works independently on the PLP brand yet collaborates with eBags.com marketing, merchandising, site merchandising, design and other cross-functional resources.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conducts primary and secondary research to identify and understand PLP customers
  • Analyzes internal data to understand purchase behavior
  • Conducts research to inform product development


  • Hosts bi-weekly meeting with cross-functional partners to inform broader organization on developments underway on the PLP team and manage projects


  • Identify and pursue new ideas, channels, media to test and potentially drive the business.
  • Identify “best-in-class” creative examples as input to design.


  • Initiates, plans and develops marketing support for new product, limited edition color and print launches


  • Sets email calendar for PLP brands
  • Coordinates with PLP Merch/New Products on timing and featured product inventory
  • Writes and submits email briefs including layout, copy and images
  • Anticipates image needs and coordinates with PLP Merch/New Products for photo shoots
  • Attends weekly email planning meetings
  • Reviews email results from email team and applies learnings for future optimization


  • Conducts daily business analysis to understand results and identify opportunities


  • Plans and executes all PLP site placements on eBags.com
  • Partners with Site Merch and Merch to optimize PLP placement across the site
  • Writes all creative briefs including copy and layouts
  • Anticipates image needs and coordinates photo shoots with PLP Merch/New Products


  • Acts as the Brand Ambassador and champions brand identity to ensure consistent deliver across channels and over time
  • Provides creative direction to design and enforces brand standards
  • Direct Mail
  • Initiates and manages development and execution of PLP-specific direct mail pieces
  • Manages PLP inclusion in company-wide direct mail
  • Anticipates image needs and coordinates with PLP Merch/New Products for photo shoots
  • Writes copy and provides initial layouts


  • Plans and executes all in-house and location photo shoots
  • Coordinates with PLP Merchandising and Photography to secure product, locations, models, etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. MBA Preferred.
  • 5+ years consumer marketing experience in consumer package goods.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing competitive analysis, customer trending and research, marketing and creative execution, and delivery of timely results.
  • Experience with internet/digital marketing techniques, trends and best practices required.
  • Knowledge of travel goods or outdoor categories and private label B2C experience preferred.
  • Highly creative, conceptual, and analytical.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and deep knowledge of pivot tables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team to rapidly deliver results.
  • Strong problem resolution skills, both independently and in coordination with others.
  • High ability to self-direct and multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
