WISE To Hold Pre-Conference Event “A Guide to Growing Through Diversity.”

Wise PreconferenceWomen Impacting Storebrand Excellence (WISE) is sponsoring the professional development event, “A Guide to Growing Through Diversity.” The event is a kick-off pre-conference event for the 2015 Store Brands Innovation and Marketing Summit in Chicago. Attendees may join WISE for this their third annual  professional development luncheon and learn how new ways of thinking, courage and inspiring leadership drive results through innovation.

Program: Discover how adopting a policy of diversity and inclusion will foster growth, drive innovation, enrich employee versatility, and improve communication on your team. This event provides firsthand accounts from leaders of two U.S. manufacturers on their experiences implementing diversity goals, as well as applying practical strategies to your organization.

Panelists:

  • Staci Kring, EVP Sales, Schreiber Foods International
    Staci Kring joined Schreiber, the largest employee-owned dairy in the world, in 7,995 as a Shred/Natural Team Advisor at the Logan, UT, plant and has risen to the ranks of EVP She also has been serving on Schreiber’s Board of Directors since 2012. Staci’s excellence has been acknowledged with several awards: Rookie of the Year in Converting, Sales Rookie of the Year after her first year as a Business Sales Manager, and Schreiber President’s Awards for Excellence in five different years. Staci holds a dual BS from Kansas State in Chemical Engineering and Food Science & Nutrition.
  • Dave Funk, SVP of Sales and Marketing, Land O’Frost
    Dave Funk is the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Land O’Frost, one of the nations leading meat companies and a 3rd generation, family-owned business. He was named to the position in 2010. Prior to Land O’Frost, Dave worked at Ralcorp Holdings for 27 years, where he held a variety of leadership roles, and at Swift-Eckrich where he spent his first 10 years in the food industry. He received a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Illinois.

Christopher Durham

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan).

Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s.
Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.

Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
