Position Description
Drives assurance of overall quality and safety of Walmart Stores private brand products (across brands) by measuring, assessing, and weighing and combining supplier, factory, and product ratings against set product criteria; reacting to immediate safety concerns including product withdraws/recalls; overseeing the implementation of preventive practices; and benchmarking Private Brand industry practices.

Works with markets to assure overall service to our customers by soliciting feedback through call centers and online; developing customer retention programs; utilizing input to improve quality program and private brand products; and overseeing execution of and measurement of customer-centric programs to build brands.

Works with markets to develop and implement systems to ensure Private Brand products have measurable specifications by overseeing creation of new product development specifications; integrating systems and processes in product development and brand merchandising; and correcting specification-related quality issues.

Develops overall quality strategy to improve effectiveness and efficiency of achieving quality goals by making use of the most current technology, systems, processes, and people to increase quality and decrease costs; soliciting field associate feedback; and employing statistically valid means of determining greatest risks and opportunities.

Drives quality improvements in products by holding suppliers accountable for the quality of their products; supporting suppliers in the efforts to identify opportunities and improve quality for Walmart customers; and removing suppliers when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Textiles, Engineering, or related field and 6 years’ experience in product development, technical design, retail merchandising, quality assurance, or related field OR 8 years’ experience in product development, technical design, retail merchandising, quality assurance, or related field

  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • 3 years’ experience leading cross-functional teams

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Textiles, Engineering, or related field
  • Six Sigma or related certification
  • 5 years’ experience in global sourcing
  • 5 years international sourcing or manufacturing experience
  • 5 years’ experience in product safety and compliance
  • 3 years budget planning and management experience
