PLMA Announces Speakers for European PL Roundtable Conference

PLMA EuropeGrowth in the Private Brand category continues to spread across Europe with own brands now accounting for at least 30% of all products sold in 15 countries, the greatest number ever, according to data compiled by Nielsen data for PLMA, which will hold its Annual Roundtable Conference in Nice, France on February 25-26.

Sweden, Finland and Czech Republic passed the 30% market share line last year for the first time. Private brand continues to account for more than half of all products sold in the following countries:

  • Switzerland (53%)
  • Spain (51%)
  • United Kingdom (45%)
  • Portugal (45%)
  • Germany (44%)
  • Belgium (41%
  • Austria (40%)

Speakers at PLMA’s upcoming annual Roundtable Conference, which will take place in France in the spring, will inform manufacturers and retailers on the latest trends, identify opportunities in private label, and understand competitive challenges.

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement.
