Loblaw a ‘Taste Of What Is Yet To Come’

Presidents Choice CookieThis week Toronto, Canada based retailer Loblaw’s held its first investor call after its merger with Shoppers Drug Mart. The call provided a few hints into the future of the combined retailer’s business. In short Loblaw’s iconic private brands will continue to grow at Shoppers.

“It was exciting to walk into Shoppers Drug Mart stores and see ‘hero’ items like PC Decadent cookies and PC Organics for baby, as well as Life Brand products in the Loblaw stores right after we closed the transaction,” Loblaw president Vicente Trius told analysts Wednesday on a conference call to discuss improved first-quarter results.

“This is obviously just a taste of what is yet to come.”
