We are currently looking for a Marketing Manager, Private Brand that will support RadioShack’s strategic initiatives to grow Private Brand products and sales. This position will also play a significant role in supporting the merchandising department while working cross functionally with other departments leading the team to successfully execute the strategies and achieve the financial goals established by the Company for the private brand product categories.   • Manage and execute the marketing strategy for customer-centric private label product and service platforms
  • Implement the brand positioning for the portfolio and create internal tools in which the organization can adhere to
  • Execute brand standards on packaging through owner’s manuals and other marketing communications
  • Implement brand standards on packaging and other materials that reflect the positioning of the brand
  • Develop consumer-facing materials in the form of in-store materials, online communications, and product videos that effectively promote unique attributes of private brand products
  • Identify key products that the team can market and will differentiate RadioShack
  • Ensure the private brand and positioning is implemented through all facets of the product life cycle
  • Bring marketing and packaging to life for the portfolio
  • Develop marketing communications materials to support the uniqueness of our private brand portfolio
  • Stay up to date on private brand trends and product innovations that help add value to the private brand portfolio

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (5-7 years)
  • Project management, planning and cross functional experience (4-5 years)
  • Developing consumer-facing materials supporting product level communications (3-5 years)
  • Consumer packaged goods experience (3-5 years)
  • Solid understanding of brand management discipline, strategy and positioning
  • Understanding of inventory planning, sales forecasting by channel, sourcing logistics and distribution
  • Understanding of the product development life cycle and the supply chain including sourcing, manufacturing, material, inventory management, and in store presence
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago. Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
