Position Description

  • Develops and executes strategic plans for specific brands
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects
  • Ensures Private Brands products are marketed effectively to the target group
  • Ensures business needs are being met
  • Ensures packaging complies with legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Identifies and resolves potential product quality issues
  • Manages specific brands across multiple categories and establishes specification for brands to drive member experience
  • Maximizes the financial performance of the private brands
  • Monitors and directs the optimization of brand profit and loss (P&L)
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field and 5 years experience in Brand Marketing, Retail Buying, Product Development, Innovations or related field OR 7 years experience in Marketing, Innovations, Retail Buying or related field.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 6 years experience in Product Development
  • 8 years experience in Brand Marketing
  • Master in Business Administration (MBA) or related fields.

Christopher Durham

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan).

Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s.
Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.

Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
