Job Summary:
Bodybuilding.com is looking for a Director of Private Label brand’s to help strategize, develop & launch our new Bodybuilding.com Supplement Line. The Director is responsible for managing all private label brand activities. These activities include but are not limited to the development and implementation of marketing plans, product development, market strategy, pricing strategy, branding/packaging, international strategy, supply chain and distribution. In addition, this individual will continue to strengthen existing contract manufacturing relationships and develop new ones as required. The incumbent will report to the head of Merchandising and work closely with the Online Merchandising, Compliance, Purchasing, Marketing, and Operations departments.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with Merchandising leadership on Private Label strategy.
  • Leading the planning, development, and execution of product line launches for the new private label brands.
  • Coordinate plans cross functionally as appropriate to implement strategy and support private label brand growth.
  • Responsible for contractual negotiations and assisting/participating in negotiations as necessary with all private label partners/suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to help facilitate the timely completion of projects.
  • Create and present private label updates to department head and executive team when required.
  • Maintain product selection with product specifications, artwork and catalog copy.
  • Analyze consumer trends and research data to maximize product line and growth.


  • 5+ Years of brand marketing or high-level sales experience, preferably within the dietary supplement/nutrition industry.
  • BS of Marketing, Merchandising, or related field.
  • Strong ability to communicate at a high level with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and proposals.
  • Extremely self-motivated, takes initiative and drive results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Power Point) and analytically minded.

Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.
