Sainsbury’s Launches Private Brand Desserts

Sainsbury dessertsSainsbury’s has added patisserie style desserts to its Taste the Difference Private Brand, inspired by the growing demand for home entertaining. Customers can choose from a variety of luxurious desserts including Passion Fruit & Belgian Chocolate Torte and Mango & Coconut Panna Cotta, perfect to share. Ranging from individual containers to larger sizes designed to serve 4, they are priced from £1 to £5 and available now.

These ready to serve desserts not only look impressive and finished to perfection, they are all made using premium ingredients and are customer taste tested – just like all Taste the Difference products. The range includes:

  • Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Passion fruit & Belgian Chocolate Torte – A tantalizing combination of rich Belgian chocolate and vibrant passion fruit, these elegant hand-glazed tortes are filled with an irresistibly creamy Belgian milk chocolate mousse on a moist brownie base, with a zesty core of luscious passion fruit curd
  • Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Mango & Coconut Panna Cotta – Rich and creamy with a tropical twist, this velvety panna cotta is made with a smooth blend of British whipping cream and coconut milk, delicately infused with vanilla and topped with luscious Alphonso mango compote for a vibrant balance of flavours
  • Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Raspberry Panna CottaTerrine – Rich and creamy, with a refreshing fruity tang, this elegant panna cotta terrine is made with British double cream infused with fragrant Madagascan vanilla and topped with a zesty raspberry juice jelly studded with sweet, ripe Heritage raspberries

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s.
