The Private Label Brands (Global sourcing) is a fast-growing area for Best Buy and the Senior Financial Analyst will play an integral role in the evolution of this function. The Analyst will support the increasing volume and complexity of the company’s global sourcing operations and its China Business Trust (CBT) legal entity structure. This role will work closely with the Controller, Tax, Treasury and private label business teams to ensure the integrity of the financial statements of both the tax statutory legal entity and private label business. Principle responsibilities will include the month-end close, variance analysis, forecasting / budgeting and audit support.

The Analyst’s main duties will be to support:

  • Monthly financial reporting and analysis – monthly journal entries, preparation of financial statements and variance analysis for global sourcing entities. Duties also include expanding current reporting capabilities by developing, maintaining and distributing standard financial reports
  • Ensuring integrity of product flow through the company ERP systems (i.e. SAP and Oracle)
  • Accounting for inter-company transactions and various transfer pricing entries. Working with Tax planning to ensure the accuracy of complex inter-company transactions
  • Audit support for the tax, statutory and GAAP audits
  • Budgeting and forecasting for the CBT legal entity
  • Other – project based responsibilities focusing on the expansion of global sourcing programs; supporting the development and maintenance of key processes and procedures; maintaining documentation on agreements; supporting other departments (Tax, Legal, etc.).

This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels and functions in the organization (colleagues from operating businesses, Tax, Legal, Global Sourcing, and other Finance Groups)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree (4 yr) – preferably Accounting/Finance/Economics
  • Two or more years experience accounting/auditing/finance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA preferred
  • Strong, practical accounting experience
  • Strong US GAAP accounting experience
  • Fundamental grasp tax accounting concepts
  • Intercompany accounting experience
  • Experience with Oracle, Essbase, HFM, SAP
