Wegmans Recalls Private Brand Whole Wheat Breads

WegmansWegmans is recalling ten of its Private Brand bread products because an ingredient (flour produced by and supplied to Wegmans by Dakota Specialty Milling) may contain thin pieces of wire mesh.. All of the products are made under Wegmans “Food You Can Feel Good About” brand and were sold between February 1 and 15th. All products can be returned for a full refund.

Reason for Recall: Wegmans has recalled various Wegmans Brand bread products because an ingredient (flour produced by and supplied to Wegmans by Dakota Specialty Milling) may contain thin pieces of wire mesh. The recalled products were sold between February 1 and February 15, 2013.

Christopher Durham

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan).
