Emilia Personal Care Appoints Private Brand Executive Renee Barch-Niles President & GM

Renee Barch2Columbus, Ohio based manufacturer of Private Brand skin care products Emilia Personal Care Inc. today announced the appointment of Renee Barch-Niles as President and General Manager. Ms. Barch-Niles will be responsible for the marketing, sales, supply-chain and financial results for all North American operations.

Ms. Barch-Niles joins Emilia Personal Care at a time of rapid company growth following more than 16 years of sales, marketing and operations experience in the consumer goods/retail industry. She was recognized by Progressive Grocer as being one of the “Top Women in Grocery” during her 8 years with Daymon Worldwide, a global sales, marketing and sourcing company with locations around the world. Most recently, Ms. Barch-Niles served as a Vice President in a retail operations role where she was responsible for sales, marketing, analytics, account P&L, and execution of private brand strategy. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Global Business Development leading a team dedicated to private brand business growth focused on category management, innovation and relationship expansion. Earlier in her career, Ms. Barch-Niles held a series of marketing, sales and strategy positions including Sr. Director of Marketing and Brand Development for GT Entertainment, a leading direct-to-consumer marketing company, with a focus upon building their health and beauty brand portfolio.

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan).

Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s.
Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.

Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
