British buying group and wholesaler, Today’s Group has introduced two new Private Brands, the first launch of its kind since the group separated from Nisa earlier this year. 40 products were launched on October 14 under three brands, Today’s Essentials, Today’s Select and Blue Stone.
Today’s Essentials is the group’s value tier and will be launched with 20 sku’s including: household items like bleach and dish soap. Today Group’s wholesalers’ will be promoting the new Private Brand in the weekly flyer beginning October 29th. In addition they will feature the launch in British trade press magazines such as The Grocer and Convenience Store.
Today’s Select is a traditional mid-tier national brand equivalent tier at a lower price. This brand includes: biscuits, canned food and soft drinks. The group is also to introduce Private Brand spring water under the Blue Stone brand. They will feature Today’s Select in the November and December flyers available to Today’s Retail Club and Symbol Group retailers. There will also be extensive PR coverage in British trade publications such as The Grocer and Convenience Store. The next phase of the Select range will be launched during January and will be featured in future editions of Today’s Retailer Magazine
Today’s group plans to expand the Private Brand portfolio in February, reaching an estimated 200 products during 2013. 80% of the products are in the Today’s Select brand.
