Mississauga, Ontario based Walmart Canada announced the Angus Steakhouse Select truck is traveling across Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, stopping at select Walmart Canada Supercenters this summer, all in the name of showing Canadians they can have great tasting, tender steak at affordable prices. It is interesting to note the difference in brand strategies between the Angus Steakhouse Select branded program in Canada and the generic private label Choice program in the US. Canada has certainly chosen a more ownable branded approach.
“Our Angus steaks are produced from Angus cattle, a breed recognized for its high quality. The meat is tender, juicy, flavorful and well marbled,” said Jose Duarte, director of merchandising for meat and deli at Walmart Canada. “Like fine steakhouses, we age our Angus select grain fed beef for maximum tenderness.”
Available exclusively at Walmart Canada supercenters, the Angus Steakhouse Select line of steaks are available in four different cuts:
- Top sirloin steak
- Strip loin steak
- Boneless Ribeye steak
- Tenderloin steaks
The Angus truck is visiting cities throughout Canada
