Healthy Lives, Healthier Hearts – You Can Make A Difference!

Over the last four years readers of My Private Brand have been generous with their compliments, complaints, time and opinions, on the rare occasion that I ask for charitable donations you have been generous. Many of you may remember that two years ago my wife Laraine ran a half marathon as a member of the Team In Training program, which raises money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year, she has a great new job and has joined her new employer Gordmans in supporting the American Heart Association (AHA). Gordmans associates are participating in the Heart Walk on Saturday, May 5, 2012. To complement the walk, they are hosting a silent auction and other fundraising events at the Gordmans corporate office. Last year these events played a part in raising over $157,000 as a total company.

The American Heart Association is dedicated to building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The organization has a goal to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20%, by the year 2020. Donations are vital to support the research, educational programs and advocacy needed to achieve this goal.

Readers have two options to make a tax-deductible donation
