Northeastern grocer Weis Markets today announced it has selected Fort Worth, Texas-based Marketing Management, Inc. (MMI) as its exclusive, in-house Private Brand sales and marketing agency. MMI will provide support for Weis Markets’ Private Brand category sales, research analytics, consumer insights, and on-site private brand support.
“Over the past several months, we conducted an in-depth review of our Private Brand program to determine the most effective way to market what we believe is our most important competitive tool, our quality private brand program,” Kurt Schertle, Weis Markets’ Senior Vice President, Sales and Merchandising. “As a result of our review, we have decided to transition the representation of our private brands program to Marketing Management Incorporated (MMI). We look forward to working with them.”
MMI maintains relationships with over 900 manufacturers of private brand products in virtually every category of the retail food and drug business, and works to promote the increased sales of these products through innovative marketing programs to raise awareness and consumer perception of the operator’s retail brands.
