Rite Aid Ties Private Brand into “Sweet Escape” Sweepstakes

Camp Hill, Pennsylvania based drugstore Rite Aid is spicing up the Valentines Day season of love yesterday’s launch of “Sweet Escape,” an interactive Facebook, Twitter and online promotion with prizes provided by HERSHEY’S and American Greetings including a two-night stay at the highly popular The Spa at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, Pa.

To coincide with the social media promotion, Rite Aid stores are offering a wide range of gifts, greetings and edible goodies. Novelties from Rite Aid’s Private Brand HOME are a great value and include light-up LED roses and heart-stamped wine glasses. Rite Aid is home to dozens of plush animals to choose from including Ty’s Beanie Boos, giant love puppies and a dancing, singing sock monkey.

The two-week social media promotion will get customers talking and thinking about Valentine’s Day, the first big retail holiday of the calendar year. Visitors to Rite Aid’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/riteaid can send an electronic greeting card and take a Valentine’s Day quiz, both of which can be easily shared with Facebook friends. Savvy shoppers will also love Sweet Escape’s limited number of printable coupons for Hershey’s “Pot of Gold” boxed chocolates.
