Food Lion Private Brand is Feeding America for the Holidays

Once again this holiday season Food Lion is working with Deeding America to feed the needy. This years program features a pre-packaged box of My Essentials Private Brand products including: Tasteeos – toasted oat cereal, macaroni & cheese, chicken noodle soup, green beans, white rice and chunk light tuna all for 4.99. Customers may add a box to their purchase and place it in the donation bin.

“Food Lion continues to lead the supermarket industry with new and innovative programs,” said Eric Davis, Feeding America director of program development. Food Lion was “the first retailer to donate perishable products from retail stores and have offered [its] experience with this program to other retailers in an effort to help grow the program nationally. Food Lion’s willingness to share their experience has led other retailers to start retail donation programs.”

About Feeding America
Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Our mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.

Each year, the Feeding America network provides food assistance to more than 37 million Americans who live without consistent access to food, including more than 14 million children and nearly 3 million seniors.

Our network of more than 200 member food banks serves all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The Feeding America network secures and distributes more than 3 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually through a network of approximately 61,000 agencies, such as food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and after-school programs.

Everyone can help end hunger by donating, advocating and volunteering. For more information visit
