Schawk Acquires Brandimage – Desgrippes & Laga

Pre-press, production and brand deployment firm Schawk, Inc. announced yesterday that it has closed its previously announced acquisition of Lipson Associates, Inc. and Laga, Inc., which does business as Brandimage – Desgrippes & Laga, or “Brandimage,” for a cash purchase price of $25 million.

Brandimage is an independent branding and design network specializing in providing branding services including positioning and strategy, product development and structural design, package design and environmental design. Most recently Brandimage redesigned 7-Eleven’s 7-Select Private Brand. The firm has operations in Chicago, Cincinnati, Paris, Brussels, Shanghai, Seoul and Hong Kong. Brandimage will operate in conjunction with Schawk’s current brand development capabilities, which are performed under its Anthem Worldwide brand.

Brandimage was formed in 2008 by the merger of Desgrippes Gobe the agency founded by Joel Desgrippes and Marc Gobe in Paris in 1971 and the iconic branding firm Lipson Alport Glass & Associates (LAGA) that was founded in 1947. The year of the merger the combined agency was estimated to have billings of $60 million and 300 employees in three regions of the world, Asia, Europe and the United States, with offices in New York, Chicago, Cincinnati, Paris, Brussels, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
