Saks Fifth Avenue VPs Private Brand Development at MAGIC

New York based premium department store retailer Saks Fifth Avenue will deliver two presentations from Saks Fifth Avenue executives at the MAGIC fashion industry conference that opens in Las Vegas on August 22. The two sessions at the Las Vegas Convention Center are:

  • Reviewing Design Talent (1 pm, Monday August 22, Room S230), an exclusive look inside Saks Fifth Avenue’s global designer selection process and the growing importance of their luxury private label brand, plus insights on social media and new marketing and retail concepts. The speaker is Eric Jennings, Vice President and Fashion Director Menswear, Home, Gift and Foods, Saks Fifth Avenue.
  • Building a Private Brand: Saks Fifth Avenue Shares Their Strategy (11 am, Tuesday August 23, Room S230), an in-depth discussion about the development of Saks Fifth Avenue’s best-selling in-house menswear brand along with expert pointers on growing private label collections into global labels with designer-level price points. The speaker is Sunny Diego, VP DMM Men’s Private Brands, Saks Fifth Avenue.

Christopher Durham

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan).

Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s.
Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.

Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
