Quality Assurance Manager – MMI/Family Dollar

Primary Function

  • Work cross-functionally with Global Sourcing and Quality Assurance in all aspects of the private brand quality process
  • Refine, maintain and help develop (as needed) a cost effective Quality Assurance program for private brand consumables product including safety, National Brand Equivalence Testing, Plant Audit requirements and Kosher certification program
  • Ensure Quality Assurance compliance by collaborating with QA, Merchants and PB team to ensure all PB sku’s are periodically tested, track and ensure resolution of all quality testing issues and collaborate with PB QA Manager to develop product specs
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to refine, maintain and set the standards for the development and maintenance of Product Specifications and Testing Protocols for all Consumable Private Brands items
  • Develop and maintain National Brand Equivalent database for all Private Brands items
  • Review Private Brand product labels and test reports for compliance to Product Specifications and regulatory standards
  • Help manage product freshness coding (date coding) requirements and validation
  • Develop strong business relationships with key suppliers and their QA representatives to coordinate activities and ensure compliance to pre-established Product Specifications
  • Effectively develop and deliver outstanding presentations to convey the importance of the QA program to internal and external audiences
  • Develop and nurture relationships with all Family Dollar departments – specifically Merchandising, Global Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Private Brands, and Legal
  • Understand and support the role MMI plays within the industry
  • Advocate for the role of product quality within the supplier sales process – qualityIintegrity is key to long term acceptance
  • Understand industry and driving factors / trends including the evolving regulatory environment (EPA, FDA, Child Safety, USDA, etc.) and incorporate changes into our QA processes proactively

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in food related fields, plus three years experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills, plus a good understanding of the grocery industry. APPLY NOW

Private Brand Category Analyst – MMI/Family Dollar

Primary Function
Support the customer team with data and recommendations, covering all facets of account support, sales, merchandising, marketing, and planning information. Assist with category and supplier reviews utilizing various analytical tools and sources. Drive integration with the customers merchandising, analytics, and space management teams with best-in-class analytical and merchandising solutions.

Specific Duties

  • Assist with category reviews that include competitor item selection, retail pricing merchandising strategy, etc.
  • Provide analysis to support development of category specific strategies to maximize sales and build market share
  • Assist Business Managers in developing annual category business plans and supplier reviews utilizing Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools and sources
  • Support the Category Business Managers Buyer/Merchants with data and recommendations, covering all facets of account support, sales, merchandising, marketing, product development and planning information
  • Assist Marketing Manager and the entire team with analytical support as called upon
  • Facilitate and take part in knowledge sharing processes with associates throughout the organization and bring this knowledge to customer.
  • Maintain promotional calendar of approved promotions. Analyze sales history and provide forecasts for promotional planning. Assist suppliers with forecasts.
  • Assist with the completion of retailer new item forms
  • Assist with packaging development process
  • Category review support using syndicated data

Qualifications
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree or at least 2-4 years of experience in grocery industry. Should demonstrate proven analytical abilities which would include being capable of analyzing business reports to determine trends. Should have excellent computer and communication skills along with strong organization and time management skills. Working knowledge of syndicated data is preferred. APPLY NOW
