Free Private Brand Groceries From Weis

Weis Markets, based in Sunbury, Pa., will hold a Grand Opening for its new superstore in Forks Township on June 26. The Grand Opening will feature the latest store design with expansive fresh departments, an in-store cafe selling beer, increased variety, a full-service pharmacy and a gas station.

Most relevant to this site is the Private Brand Grand Opening promotion that will distribute 4,000 reusable bags containing free Private Brand products and coupons valued at $67, at a total value of nearly $220,000, to households in adjacent neighborhoods.

I love this kind of promotion it not only samples Private Brands but it engages the community. This is the kind of local relevant marketing that retailers should aggressively pursue and that CPG’s should be afraid of.
