Coldy Beerly from Piggly Wiggly

Throughout the South, Piggly Wiggly is launching a new Private Brand beer appropriately named “Pig Swig.” The beer also plays into the local trend and is recognized as a Certified South Carolina Product, Pig Swig will be available in two varieties, Pig Tail Ale and Pig Pen Pilsner — each brewed locally by Thomas Creek Brewery, in my home town, Greenville, SC.

“Pig Swig provides our customers with a high-quality, craft beer at a great price,” said Christopher Ibsen, Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. director of marketing. “We’re excited to add Pig Swig as one more reason to shop locally with The Pig this summer.”

Pig Tail Ale, an American-style amber, offers a full-bodied, malty flavor and smoky notes while Pig Pen Pilsner‖ presents a light-bodied German-style pilsner taste with a clean finish. Each will be sold in six-pack varieties available for $6.99 in South Carolina and $7.99 in the coastal Georgia locations.
