MARCA BLANCA Presents the First Annual Spanish Private Brand Forum

The 5th Annual Marca Blanca 2011 conference in Spain is an international Private Brand trade show which will be focused on the food and non-food sectors. The exhibition gathers manufacturers, distributors and importers with the retail industry, supermarket chains, wholesalers, chain stores and restaurants. MARCA BLANCA, The Private Label Exhibition in Spain will take place at IFEMA – Feria de Madrid, November 23 – 24, 2011.

This years show will introduce the 1st Annual Private Label Forum.

The Forum, coordinated by Dr. Maria Puelles Gallo, Organizing Committee chairperson and professor at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, will address the topic Private Label and the Consumer of the 21st Century this year. The event will be the setting for a expanded debate and conversation across all channels involved: industry, retailers and consumers.

Speakers will include: Grupo Carrefour Espana, FIAB (Spanish Food and Beverages Industries Federation), ACES (Spanish Supermarket Chains Association), ASEDAS (Spanish Distributers and Supermarkets Association), OCU (Consumers and Users Association) and MARM (Environmental, Rural and Marine Ministry).

Christopher Durham
Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan). Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s. Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago. Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
