Back to School with “No Name”

The Canadian Private Brand legend Loblaws features a entire page of their colorful value tier brand “No Name” in the back to school edition of their circular. The bright yellow page is both startling and retro in this edge of white faux European design. It may shock the sensibilities of many Americans but their is no question about its value proposition. Cheap, Cheap, Cheap!!!

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement.
