Private Brand Wine Shines in Texas

Lubbock, Texas-based United Supermarkets has expanded its Private Brand selection with three Market Street wines.

Patio Sangria is said to be  “from the Vineyards of Market Street,”available at all 42 of the  grocer’s stores that carry beer and wine. Additionally, two table wines, Farm to Market Red and Farm to Market White, are due on United’s shelves in the next few weeks.

The wines are the fruit of the United’s collaboration with Lubbock-based McPherson Cellars Winery and winemaker Kim McPherson. Patio Sangria is the third such product from McPherson, who has also created private label versions for two restaurants.

The sangria’s label features a painting, “Escape,” created especially for the wine by noted local artist Carol C. Howell.

Family owned United operates 50 stores under three formats: United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United.
