Private Brand Texas Showdown at HEB

According to the May 27, 2010 H-E-B Field Report from the Instore Marketing Institute Texas based grocer H-E-B introduced a “Texas Showdown” promotional program that delivers a free Private Brand product to shoppers who buy the equivalent national brand product. National brand products featured in the promotion include: PepsiCo’s Doritos, J.M. Smucker’s Folgers Classic Roast, Kraft Foods’ DiGiorno, and Campbell Soup Co.’s Prego. The promotion earned dedicated endcaps with signage billing the “H-E-B brand” as “Made for the love of Texans.”
