A few days after my recent post on the CVS Private Brand canned chips I discovered a remarkably similar if not identical product at my local Food Lion. Only at Food Lion the chips are marketed in the “Smart Options” value tier brand that I helped create while I was there. We grabbed a can of the chips and I am pleased to say they are pretty good, and at 4 for $5 they are a great value.
On the other end of the quality and value continuum I also discovered premium Private Brand chocolate bars in Delhaize Private Brand, “Taste of Inspirations.” I worked with the team at Hannaford including Tim Jacques who was recently promoted senior director of the new centralized Private Brands team and the Hannaford Marketing Director Bruce Daymon. This is a great brand and a great bar of chocolate.
