Pentawards 2010 : The Worldwide Package Design Competition is Open to Private Brands

Pentawards, the world’s first online competition devoted exclusively to package design is now accepting entries for the 2010 competition. Package designers, brand managers and packaging suppliers from around world are invited to enter their best creations in 44 categories divided into five sectors: Food, Beverage, Body, Other Markets, Luxury. Private Brands may enter in the Food, Beverage, Body and Other markets sectors.

An international jury composed of 12 package design professionals will award the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Pentawards. The best of show will be crowned with the prestigious Diamond Pentaward.

The Pentawards ceremony will be presented on September 30, 2010 in the European Pavilion of the Expo Shanghai 2010.

CALL FOR ENTRIES:
Registration will be open online until the May 21,2010 for all packaging, or lines of packaging, created or placed on the market since January 1, 2009, anywhere in the world.

Christopher Durham

Christopher Durham is the president of My Private Brand and the co-founder of The Vertex Awards. He is a strategist, author, consultant and retailer who built brands at Delhaize-owned Food Lion, and lead strategy and brand development for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He has consulted with retailers around the world on their private brand portfolios including: Family Dollar, Petco, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Metro (Canada), TLW (Taiwan) and Hola (Taiwan).

Durham has published five definitive books on private brands, including his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. In 2017, he will debut his newest book, Vanguard: Vintage Originals, a visual tour of innovation and disruption in private brand going back to the mid-1800’s.
Dynamic in his presentation while down to earth and frank in his opinions, he has presented at numerous conferences, including FUSE, The Dieline Conference, Packaging that Sells, Omnishopper and PLMA’a annual trade show in Chicago.

Durham lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laraine, and two daughters, Olivia and Sarah.
