Location: New York, NY

Job Description
Based in Kohl’s New York Product Development/Design Office, this person will oversee Design, Art and (indirectly) Technical Design for a portfolio of licensed exclusive brands: Simply Vera Vera Wang, Elle, Candies, Lauren Conrad, Dana Buchman and Fila Sport. Will oversee a design team of 3 Design Director/Managers and total team of approximately 25. This person will interface with the Kohl’s Product Development & Merchandising teams as well as with Licensors (ie. SVVW = Vera Wang, LC = Lauren Conrad, Candies = Iconix, Dana Buchman = Liz Claiborne, Elle = Elle Magazine Fashion Director). Will cover all categories, including RTW, Accessories, Handbags, Shoes, Sleep/Intimates and Jewelry. Reports to the SVP of Kohl’s NY PD/Design Office.

Kohl’s is looking for a seasoned Women’s Contemporary RTW Design Head who has experience managing multiple brands. Not only must this person have a strong Contemporary aesthetic but can also run a large volume “mass” business. Kohl’s is looking for “left brain/right brain” leader with strong business acumen…management of the brands and the team supersedes actually designing. Hybrid Product Development, Design and Merchandising experience a plus. He/she must be able to work in a large, complex retail environment. Retail experience ideal but would also consider someone coming from a wholesale background.
