Position Summary
Leads the development and execution of the strategy for all True Value private label brands, products and packaging.  The Brand Manager serves as the steward for these brands in order to ensure their continued growth in accordance with brand standards and quality expectations.

Position Description

  • Communicate and interact regularly with Merchandising associates and Merchants in order to ensure that all changes in assortments and private label branded product additions/deletions are made in accordance with brand standards.    Provide leadership in developing new directions for branded categories
  • Coordinate and execute packaging changes or additions for all private label products to ensure timely completion as well as strict adherence to published standards
  • Ensure the execution and maintenance of a standardized format for all Destination True Value (DTV) point of purchase (POP) materials.  Regularly audit and update POP to account for changes in categories and products
  • Communicate private brands strategy and messaging to both members and consumers utilizing all available avenues including Markets, advertising, field visits, etc.
  • Manage and direct outside design consultants

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • Three to five years of related experience
  • Other industry/discipline experience: Advertising, Communication, Marketing

  • Makes policy decisions using generally accepted guidelines
  • Relies upon data, own experiences, other’s perspectives and a clear process when evaluating a course of action and making recommendations and decisions
  • Is required to understand how improving personal efficiency while maintaining quality, impacts the cost-effectiveness of team.  Also recognizes the impact of scope changes and escalates to the appropriate next level of management

Major Financial Control Activities:

  • Responsible for managing an operational budget; Operational budget value under management=$800-900K

Additional Qualifications:

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of a particular field
  • Manages the work of exempt associates
  • Possesses proficient understanding of widely used PC application

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Christopher Durham
