October brings cooler weather and Halloween but for retailers it also brings “Pink” or at least pink packaging in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the last few years CPG’s from Campbell’s to Pepsi have proudly released special pink packaging and according to the Middletown Journal of Middletown, Ohio Kroger is including its Private Brand products in the event this year.
Kroger is selling more than 2,000 national brand and Private Brand pink products some of which include photos and stories of Kroger employee’s affected by cancer. According to the article: “Robin Middleton, a resident of Seven Mile and past manager of the Middletown Kroger on Oxford State Road, is featured on an Eggo Waffles box.”
Kroger made a $3 million donation to various breast cancer awareness programs.
